Biloxi VA promotes physical fitness, support for veterans through VA2K event
May 10, 2016BILOXI, Miss. -- The Biloxi VA will host its annual VA2K Walk and Roll event to encourage healthy activity while supporting homeless veterans with donated items on May 18.
The VA2K Walk and Roll is free and open to the general public. The VA2K event will be held over two sessions, at 9-9:30 a.m. and 10-10:30 a.m. The location will be at the water fountain area on the campus. The Biloxi VA campus is located at 400 Veterans Avenue.
Community participants are encouraged to park in the parking garage or its adjacent parking lot. In the event of inclement weather, the VA2K will be cancelled. Pre-registration is not required and those interested in participating should plan to arrive at the fountain area no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of the session they plan to participate in.
In conjunction with the event, VA will accept voluntary donations to be used to carry out existing VA programs for homeless veterans. However, there is no requirement for a donation in order to participate. Ideal donation items are as follows: toothpaste, toothbrushes, bug spray, bus passes, flashlights and batteries. Money donations will also be accepted.
