Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System
Current Operating Status
As of Friday, October 6, 2017 3:32 PM CDT
All clinics are currently operating under normal hours and conditions.
The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System leadership is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Nate’s predicted path and how it could potentially affect each VA facility along the coast.
First and foremost, the safety of our veterans and our employees is paramount. Everyone is encouraged to have a solid plan for evacuation if needed or be overly prepared to ride the storm out.
Currently, the plan is continue normal operations at all locations until further notice. The necessary amenities are in place and/or being readied. There is food, water, oxygen, necessary medicines, etc., for all patients who are staying at our Biloxi facility. In the unlikely scenario it becomes necessary to evacuate the Biloxi campus, an evac plan stands ready to be implemented.
Employees who are scheduled to work over the weekend are advised to take into consideration extended driving times and potentially blocked routes.
Leaving early to be at your duty location on time for your scheduled shift is advised, but please do so with caution and safely.
All employees should ensure their supervisors have their correct contact information.
