Biloxi VA Medical Center resumes full operations on Friday

The VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System will resume operation in Biloxi on Friday, August 31, 2012.  Inpatient care and the Emergency Department in Biloxi remain open today, August 30, 2012.   All Biloxi VA employees working evening and night shifts are expected to return for their normal tour of duty starting today, August 30, 2012.    

VA outpatient clinics in Mobile, Pensacola, Eglin and Panama City resumed full operations today.

  BILOXI, Miss. -- The VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System's (VAGCVHCS) community based outpatient clinics in Mobile, Ala., Pensacola, Eglin and Panama City in Northwest Florida will be open for business on Thursday, August 30, 2012.
  
  All outpatient appointments at the Biloxi VA Medical Center are cancelled for Thursday, August 30, 2012, due to the continued weather conditions related to Hurricane Isaac.  The Medical Center inpatient units and the emergency department remain open.

Sheltering for Ride-Out employees and their families/pets will begin at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.  Employees will receive meals, families may purchase meals at the Canteen.  Employees/families should bring additional food in the event that weather is too severe to transport food across campus. 

Dress attire:  Staff who typically wear a uniform should wear their uniform during the ride out as well.  Staff who wear business attire may dress in acceptable and presentable business casual attire.

  BILOXI, Miss. -- In anticipation of the pending landfall and impact of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Isaac, the VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (VAGCVHCS) will close the outpatient clinics in Biloxi, Miss., Eglin, Panama City, and the Joint Ambulatory Care Center in Florida on Tuesday and Wednesday.  The Mobile, Ala. outpatient clinic will close at noon today and remain closed through Wednesday.  VAGCVHCS personnel are actively calling Veterans who have scheduled appointments during this closure to reschedule those appointments to a later date and will address any immediate needs.
