"Stand Down" 2008: Standing Up for the Homeless
STAND DOWN is a cooperative event between the VA, local veteran organizations, and community resources to provide services and information to the local homeless population, many of whom are veterans and/or families of veterans.
Items to be provided are health screenings, education and reading material, clothing, shoes, undergarments, comfort kits, showers, hair cuts, sleeping bags, cold weather pants, coats, sweaters, ponchos, gloves, hats,and a hot meal.
