VA2K Walk and Roll Event at Biloxi, MS and Pensacola, FL

BILOXI, Miss.– The Department of Veterans Affairs Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System will host a 2K walk and roll event in support of employee wellness month on its campus on June 2.    Participation in the event is open to the general public, including participants who use wheelchairs.

The event will be held from 9-9:30 a.m. and 10-10:30 a.m. in the campus’ new parking garage.  Interested participants should arrive 15 minutes early to register. The VAGCVHCS is located at 400 Veterans Ave.

The event is also being held to benefit homeless veterans.  Participants are asked to donate any of the following items that will be distributed by VA personnel to homeless veterans: bus passes, body bug spray, flashlights, batteries, kitchen items (pots, pans, dishes), new undergarments, shoes, non-perishable food items and toiletries.

“Worksite wellness activities enhance employee engagement and contribute to a more productive and healthy workforce,” Thomas Wisnieski, VA Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System director, said. “We are proud to conduct this VA2K event and are committed to ensuring we have a happy and healthy workforce here to serve our Veteran community.”

MOBILE, Ala. – The Department of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Mobile will host a 2K walk and roll event in support of employee wellness month at Lyons Park on June 2.    Participation in the event is open to the general public, including participants who use wheelchairs.

The event will be held at two time intervals: 9-9:30 a.m. and 10-10:30 a.m.  Interested participants should arrive 15 minutes early to register. Lyons Park is located at 180 Lyons Park Avenue.

The event is also being held to benefit homeless veterans.    Participants are asked to donate any of the following items that will be distributed by VA personnel to homeless veterans: tarps, tents, bus passes, body bug spray, flashlights, battery operated fans, batteries, kitchen items (pots, pans, dishes), new undergarments, pre-packaged snack foods, socks, shoes and toiletries.

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Department of Veterans Affairs Joint Ambulatory Care Center will host a 2K walk and roll event in support of employee wellness month on June 2.    Participation in the event is open to the general public, including participants who use wheelchairs.

The event will be held from 9-9:30 a.m. and 10-10:30 a.m., near the rear entrance of the facility.  Interested participants should arrive 15 minutes early to register. The JACC is located at 790 Veterans Way in West Pensacola along Highway 98, next to the U.S. Navy Hospital.

The event is also being held to benefit homeless veterans.  Participants are asked to donate any of the following items that will be distributed by VA personnel to homeless veterans: bus passes, body bug spray, flashlights, batteries, kitchen items (pots, pans, dishes), new undergarments, shoes, non-perishable food items and toiletries.
