Vets at Vet Vet Center

Veterans at Grand Opening

Friday, July 29, 2011

MOBILE, Ala. – The Mobile Vet Center staff opened their new facility located at 3221 Springhill Ave. on July 22. VA employees, Veterans and many others were on hand to witness the event. Among the VA Gulf Coast employees present were Ronald Johnson, VA Gulf Coast assistant director, and Dr. Arthur Spiro, Mobile Community Based Outpatient Clinic’s chief medical officer.

Staffs for the new Vet Center in Bay and Okaloosa Counties in Northwest Florida are planning to conduct similar events on Sept. 23 and 24, respectively.

Vet Centers provide a valued continuum of quality care to Veterans and their families. They offer a wide range of services to help service¬ members make a successful transition from military to civilian life. Vet center staff members specialize in readjust¬ment counseling for Veterans and their families, along with many other counseling services.

By the end of 2011, there will be 300 Vet Centers across the nation and surrounding territories (U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam and American Samoa). All Gulf Coast area Vet Centers are within a short distance from VA Gulf Coast medical facilities.
