SHALIMAR, Fla. – The Okaloosa County Vet Center will celebrate its grand opening on September 24, 2011.
The Department of Veterans Affairs Vet Center program offers a wide range of services to assist war zone veterans and their families make a successful transition from military to civilian life. These services include various types of readjustment counseling such as individual, marital, family, and group as well as bereavement and military sexual trauma therapy, employment, medical, and benefits referrals.
“We are excited to be a part of the Okaloosa County community, and our staff is excited about serving veterans in this area,” Clifford Harris, Vet Center team leader, said. “Please come out and see what we can offer veterans and their families.”
The event will start at 11 a.m. The new Vet Center is located at 6 11th Avenue, Suite G-1, in Shalimar. The event is open to the general public.
